Microdermal Monday

2 May

“I have to get an MRI soon, does that mean I have to take my microdermal piercings out?”

No, you do not need to remove microdermal piercings when getting an MRI, they are made from titanium which is not magnetic and often used for long term use.

Any other piercings such as belly button, tongue, nose, etc. do need to be removed though. For those who do not know some tattoos can also contain magnetic particles in them, so let the technician know before you go into the MRI.
